Researcher Michael S. Karlen: Long live Michael Gorbachev
Michael S. Karlen, a Swiss national, researcher and editor, lived and studied in Zurich during the time of Gorbachev’s Perestroika. In the early 2000s he worked for the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations in Geneva.
In 2005 he became Secretary-General of the non-profit Comprehensive Dialogue among Civilizations. This work brought him in contact with Mikhail Gorbachev and motivated him to publish the book «Essential Thoughts: Learning from the man who changed the world».
