The "Bering Strait" festival develops tourism in the Arctic region
Anadyr hosted the "Bering Strait" international festival, the main goal of which is to develop tourism in the Arctic region. The centrepiece of the event was an ethno-cultural cruise beyond the Arctic Circle on the "Professor Khromov" research vessel, where participants could learn more about the traditions and customs of the indigenous peoples of the North. Vladislav Kuznetsov, Head of the Chukotka Autonomous District, noted that cruises in northern waters can make Chukotka a centre of Arctic tourism.
We tell you about the route of the "Professor Khromov" and how local residents met the participants of the voyage in our video.
