RUDN University held a festival of cultures "Planet South-West"

Around the world in one day? It's easy! One could get acquainted with the culture, traditions and national color of more than 50 countries of the world at the "Planet South-West" festival, which was held at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in Moscow. On the square in front of RUDN student communities united in exhibition tents. One tent presents one country. Just in one day you can visit the most exotic countries of Latin America, Africa and Asia. The guests of the holiday were introduced to the colors and peculiarities of the states. Those interested could try on national costumes, buy souvenirs and practice in master classes. At the festival, foreign students of the university not only demonstrate their national traditions, but they themselves are happy to try on Russian kosovorotki, Indian saris and perform dances of peoples of other states. For the first time, the "Planet South-West" festival was held on May 1, 1987, after which the event became an annual tradition. During the festive concert, students must include in the program not only folklore, but also songs and dances from the period of the Great Patriotic War.
