Benchmark of classical dance: Sleeping Beauty at Bolshoi Theatre
One of the most famous ballets has been performed on the Moscow stage for over 100 years and consistently draws full houses. The production, set to music by composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, was choreographed by Marius Petipa. The premiere took place at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg in 1890. Later, it was staged at the Bolshoi. Today, the legendary ballet can be seen in the version by ballet master Yuri Grigorovich.
