Egyptian Prime Minister welcomes Tanzanian Parliament Speaker and discusses bilateral relations

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received the Speaker of the Tanzanian Parliament Tulia Ackson. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

During the meeting, PM Madbouly emphasised the deep roots of the strategic partnership between Egypt and Tanzania. He noted the frequent exchange of visits between the political leadership of both countries and emphasised the significant Egyptian investments in various sectors in Tanzania. Lauding Egypt's position as a leading investor in Tanzania, Madbouly emphasised the importance of expanding bilateral trade.

A key topic of discussion was the dam, a major hydropower project in Tanzania, which is being implemented by the Egyptian alliance. Prime Minister Madbouly praised the project as an outstanding endeavour and welcomed the efforts of the Egyptian alliance to accelerate its construction. He expressed interest in closely monitoring the progress of the project on a regular basis.

Referring to the hydropower project, Speaker Ackson highlighted its potential not only to accelerate development in Tanzania but also for neighbouring countries. She emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation among the Nile Basin countries to achieve sustainable development.

Talking about future cooperation, Ackson identified agriculture and health as promising sectors for enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Tanzania. She recognised that Tanzania can benefit from Egypt's best practices and technologies in these fields.

Prime Minister Madbouly reiterated Egypt's commitment to supporting neighbouring countries in the Arab region and Africa. He emphasised that stability, development and increased investment in these countries contribute to Egypt's own stability.
