Russian–Chinese Winter Youth Games strengthen Sino-Russian Cooperation in Physical Culture and Sports
On the evening 19th of December in Changchun there was held the closing ceremony of III Russian–Chinese Youth Winter Games. These games continue the traditional friendship between China and Russia in sporting circles and lay the foundation for the training of new talents in winter sports.
148 chinese athletes competed in 45 events in 8 sports. During the competitions, the athletes from both countries not only enriched their competitive experience, but also made friends with each other.
This sport event is a bridge of friendship between China and Russia, said in an interview a Russian coach Nikolay Tretyakov.
In the women's 500m speed skating event, Anastasia Semenova became the gold medal winner, Zou Xinyuye won silver medal and Lilit Gharibyan took the bronze medal. Among young men, russian athletes Mikhail Sherr and Sergey Bukuev took the first and the second places at the same distance, and chinese athlete Liu Jinfei took the third place.
This year's Games are an important event of the Year of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Physical Culture and Sports. During three days of exciting competitions the young athletes of two countries exchanged their experience, showed their skills, and had friendly talks. Young athletes fully demonstrated their sporting enthusiasm and demonstrated the traditional friendly relationship between China and Russia, as reported by Neabridge, a partner of TV BRICS.
