Specialists from leading energy companies in ASEAN countries to undertake fellowships in Russia
TV BRICS

A delegation of specialists from Latin America and the Caribbean visited Russia as part of the Fellowship Programme for Foreign Specialists InteRussia "Changing Energy Landscape". TV BRICS co-organised and acted as the main media partner of the fellowship.

The fellowship participants learnt about the structure and operation of Russia's fuel and energy complex (FEC). They learnt about the country's international projects in this area. The core of the business programme was a meeting with representatives of the Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Russian Ministry of Energy and the Global Energy Association.

"We show real production facilities of the Russian fuel and energy complex. Power generation infrastructure, power grid management systems and much more"

Alexey Kulapin Director General of REA

In his opinion, the exchange of experience at this level is beneficial for all parties involved. Russia has a lot to offer its partners from Latin America.

"These are joint projects in the oil and gas sector, supplies of equipment for solar energy, co-operation in the nuclear industry. The issue of co-operation in the gas sector cannot be left out of the picture. Russia is a country with a unique gas transport system. Our partners may be interested in technical solutions in the sphere of pipeline transport and LNG production," explained the representative of the Ministry of Energy.

He also spoke about oil and gas projects that are already being implemented in Latin America. In particular, Russian companies are developing fields in a number of countries in the region. Continued exchange of experience in the energy sector between Russia and its foreign partners will lead to the emergence of new joint initiatives in the future, the head of the REA believes.

The fellowship of specialists from Latin America is not only a platform for knowledge exchange. It is about opportunities to build new areas of co-operation between states and companies, said Daniil Krapivin, director of project development at the Global Energy Association.

"We exchange experience with colleagues who later become our partners. This is another additional step towards strengthening ties between Russia and Latin America and the Caribbean," he emphasised.

At the same time, the energy sector is not the only area in which such fellowship can take place. In particular, there are plans to organise a similar project in agriculture, announced Tatyana Mashkova, Director General, National Committee for the Promotion of Economic Cooperation with the Countries of Latin America (NC CEPLA).

After getting acquainted with Russian fuel and energy companies, the interns visited the TV BRICS headquarters. Editor-in-Chief Ksenia Komissarova spoke about the process of creating TV programmes, stories, documentaries and content exchange with foreign media by the international media network.

TV BRICS Editor-in-Chief noted that co-operation with TV channels, radio stations and digital platforms in Africa, Asia and Latin America is actively developing.

"We regularly report on the most important events and the latest trends in the energy industry. TV BRICS produces reports, special projects and documentaries about the energy sector. For example, last year we created a special project 'Energy of Opportunities', dedicated to various aspects of co-operation between Russia and South-East Asian countries, from education and training of specialists to the construction of floating nuclear power plants"

Ksenia Komissarova Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS

The participants of the fellowship shared their impressions with TV BRICS.

"Russia is one of the leading energy powers. Therefore, it was important for me to familiarise myself with its strategy for transition to a green economy. The experience of Russian companies in this field is no less interesting. It was especially valuable to personally communicate with the leadership of the REA," said Helena Rodriguez, a representative of a consulting company in Argentina.

Understanding the topic of energy intersecting with other industries helps to keep abreast of global trends of today, said Jose Manuel Inser Gonzalez, an engineer from Costa Rica.

"The energy transition is inextricably linked to the geopolitical restructuring of the world. The fellowship allowed me to learn about Russia's role in these processes," he said.

In turn, Cesar Zuccarino, a communications specialist from Argentina, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of TV BRICS.

"I am very grateful for the hospitality we have received at TV BRICS. The media network caters to a diverse audience and covers events from different angles and perspectives," said a participant of the international internship programme.

The Fellowship Programme for Foreign Specialists InteRussia is organised by the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund together with theSt. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) in partnership with the Global Energy Association and the Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Russian Ministry of Energy.
