The 8th Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival to be held in Paris at the end of April
The eighth Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival will be held in Paris this year from 25 to 27 April. A total of 4,325 works from 142 countries and regions have been entered into the 2024 festival's competition programme and will compete for prizes in seven categories.
Eight Chinese documentaries that won awards at the Wulong Documentary Film Week immediately became nominees of the 8th Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival: "Guranay", "The national parks of China" (Women de Guojia Gongyuan), "One or More" (Yi He Duo), "The sound of Tibetan gust", "Mo Yan”, Rosewood With Noble Character (Jun Zitan), Ci Sheng Yi Xi/A Fantastic Yang Opera, and He Yi Zhongguo/China before China.
This time, a forum, roundtable, special screenings and other events are planned on the margins of the Golden Tree Festival. Detailed information can be found on the official website of the festival.
Recall that in January 2024 in the PRC in the city of Chongqing were successfully held events of the Chinese segment of the week of documentary cinema international festival "Golden Tree". The main award "Golden Tree" received the film "Guranay", which tells the story of an elderly couple growing trees in the desert. The event aroused great interest among Chinese Internet users, with more than 300 million people following the film.
In total, nearly 30,000 documentary filmmakers from 164 countries and regions have participated in the Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival over the previous years.
