"UNESCO Creative Cities of the BRICS countries: Art Together" will be held in July

The program includes discussions between representatives of the BRICS+ countries

The Project Office for International Youth Cooperation “Russia – BRICS” will hold the Creative cooperation program “UNESCO Creative Cities of the BRICS countries: Art Together” on 15 July 2022.

The program is aimed at stimulating intellectual interaction of participating cities, exchange of experience in the field of culture and art and implementation of joint international projects.

The Creative Cooperation Program "UNESCO Creative Cities of the BRICS countries: Art Together" will include six regular online discussions (1,5 hours each, July – December 2022) between representatives of UNESCO Creative Cities of the BRICS+ countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and others. Within the framework of the program, experts will share the successful experience of the communities of their cities, which are part of the UNESCO Creative Network.

The program is initiated by the city of Ulyanovsk, which became the first Russian city to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2015 (“Literature”).

Cultural and humanitarian organizations of the BRICS countries as well as municipalities represented by the directorates of UNESCO Creative Cities can participate in the discussions. The program will be accepting applications until July 14th.

29 cities are included in the list of UNESCO Creative Cities of the BRICS countries:

Salvador, Brasilia, Hyderabad, Saint Petersburg, Kargopol, Hangzhou, Durban, Kazan, João Pessoa, Chennai, Suzhou, Overstrand, Ulyanovsk, Hermanus, Santos, Jaipur, Shunde, Cape Town, Belém, Mumbai, Qingdao, Curitiba, Varanasi, Shenzhen, Belo Horizonte, Beijing, Paraty, Fortaleza and Florianopolis.
