Brazil to host women's football championship
Brazil will host the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time. The decision to host the world championship in Brazil was made at the 74th Congress of the International Football Federation (FIFA) in Bangkok. Brazil's bid received 119 votes.
It will also be the first tournament in South America, confirming the football's governing body's commitment to developing rotation between continents. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
Brazilian Football Confederation president Ednaldo Rodrigues invited everyone to visit Brazil.
"We knew we would be celebrating a victory for South American women's football and women. You can be sure, without vanity, we will have the best Women's World Cup ever," said Ednaldo Rodrigues.
