Ethiopia's coffee exports generate over US$1.4 billion in revenue

Coffee exports boost the country's economy positively

The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority said the revenue was generated by exporting over 298,000 metric tonnes of coffee to various countries during the period. This is reported by Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC), a partner of TV BRICS.

Experts have indicated significant improvements in the quality of coffee, due to which there has been a significant increase in foreign trade revenues.

Notably, coffee exports in 2024 showed an impressive growth of 50,500 metric tonnes compared to the previous financial year.

One of the most significant achievements reported was the dramatic increase in farmers' income from coffee production.

Millions of Ethiopian coffee growers should see an improvement in their standard of living as a result of the country's economy benefiting greatly from the increased coffee export performance.
