Exhibition of works by Russian and Iranian artists "Patterns of Friendship" to be held in Moscow for the first time

Authors of the best works will receive prizes and an opportunity to visit Russia and Iran

The Russian-Iranian art exhibition "Patterns of Friendship" opens in Moscow on 14 August. TV BRICS is the general media partner of the festival.

The event is organised by the Iranian Embassy together with the Academy of Watercolour and Fine Arts of Sergey Andriyaka with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture. It is curated by Sare Art Gallery in Russia and Artibition Gallery in Iran.

"The festival is dedicated to the memory of the talented Russian artist Sergey Andriyaka. More than six hundred masters registered for this international event and submitted their works for the competition. Participants from Iran dedicated their works to Russia, and participants from Russia showed their vision of Iran," said Masoud Ahmadvand, Head of the Cultural Representative Office at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation.

"Patterns of Friendship" is the first festival of cultural exchange between the two countries. Visitors will see 200 best works of young talents and 40 works of famous masters. Through this platform, budding artists will be able to enter the art market. Subsequent events will be dedicated to other areas of culture and art.

At the opening ceremony of "Patterns of Friendship" the winners of the competition will be awarded – one work from each country. The authors of the best works will receive cash prizes, and the finalists will receive trips to Russia and Iran, as well as various professional gifts.

During a month the exhibition will be held at the Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts of Sergey Andriyaka in Moscow. Then the exposition will go to other cities of Russia and Iran, including St. Petersburg, Kazan, Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz.
