TV BRICS expands partner network with UN specialized agencies

The year of Russia's chairmanship of BRICS included several important dates in the world’s history: the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the UN. In the Moscow Declaration, the Summit participants noted the importance of upholding the central role of the United Nations in the international system.
TV BRICS International Network is the UN’s partner. Today, it is a member of The SDG Media Compact, the official international pool of the UN Sustainable Development Goals media program. In 2018, TV BRICS became one the 50 pioneering UN’s partners in the creation of the SDG Media Zone. TV BRICS is a long-standing partner for SDG events. Within the framework of cooperation with the UN, TV BRICS has carried out a number of projects dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the UN.
In January 2020, TV BRICS covered The UN SDG Media Zone live from the World Economic Forum in Davos. TV BRICS Network became the first Russian media to broadcast the premiere of the documentary commemorating the UN’s anniversary Nations United: Urgent Solutions for Urgent Times. TV BRICS and Friends for Leadership held an online conference with the UN Deputy Secretary-General.
TV BRICS actively cooperates with UN Specialized Agencies. Among them is the Sustainable Tourism Partnership Programme in South Africa, a part of the UN World Tourism Organization. The Sustainable Tourism Partnership Programme is a partner of the 10-year Sustainable Consumption and Production Programme adopted at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012. Together with the Sustainable Tourism Partnership Programme, TV BRICS supports screenings of the best African travel films aimed at promoting agritourism in the African region and supporting remote rural areas through tourism.
TV BRICS International Network and an International NGO World Humanitarian Drive hosted the COVID Times Poetry competition. The competition is dedicated to the problem of combating the coronavirus pandemic. The main message of the creative competition is to inspire readers around the world for staying positive and not losing heart amid the pandemic and lockdown.
The World Humanitarian Drive aims to promote the ideas of humanism and peace through education, arts, sports, science and media. World Humanitarian Drive partners the Universal Peace Federation, an NGO in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
