TV BRICS "Let's be clear!" project presented as part of BRICS Summer School 2022
On Tuesday, 22 November, TV BRICS correspondent and host of "Let's Be Clear!" Alyona Subbota presented a conservation education TV project to the participants of the BRICS 2022 Summer School taking place from 20 to 25 November 2022 at the Durban University of Technology, South Africa.
The summer school in South Africa is organised by the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA). TV BRICS is the media partner of the event.
The environmental sphere occupies an important place on the international agenda.
The TV BRICS international network this year launched an educational television project on the preservation of the environment. Each episode discusses global environmental problems and how they can be solved using Russian projects as examples. The presenter, together with experts, explains what sustainability, conscious consumption and green technology are.
"During the production of the programme we visited more than five cities, filmed in 50 different locations and conducted more than 60 interviews. In each episode we talk to experts - we call them eco-mentors, and we try to support eco-initiatives ourselves. For example, for an episode about recycling old clothes, our production team decided to have a competition in the office. We asked everyone to bring their old clothes. It was planned to collect 50 kilograms, but what was our surprise when, as a result, we collected 74 kilograms. After the shooting, all the clothes were given away for recycling. As a result, we made a good episode and helped the environment. In addition, in the program we try to give specific advice for each person who wants to be more conscious in everyday life", said Alyona Subbota, the host of "Let's be clear!".
The TV BRICS international network expects that the dissemination of this project through media partners in the Five countries of the alliance will help share Russia's experience in tackling environmental issues relevant to the whole world.
"We believe that this knowledge is really valuable and we hope that this initiative will help solve environmental problems in the BRICS countries," the presenter said.
The BRICS Summer School takes place from 21 to 25 November at Durban University of Technology. The theme is 'The BRICS bloc in a new development era'.
The objectives of the Summer School are to give young people from the BRICS countries the opportunity to participate in the affairs of the association, to promote mutual respect and understanding among the BRICS youth, to strengthen cooperation between young people from the bloc states in different areas and to identify common interests for the further partnership development.
