Mzuvukile Jeff Maqetuka, Ambassador of South Africa to the RF: "Our countries have a long history together"
TV BRICS correspondent Svetlana Kukava spoke to Mzuvukile Jeff Maqetuka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Africa to Russia, at the South African Embassy in Moscow. Mr. Maqetuka shared experience of being South African Ambassador to Russia means to him and how he finds Russia close to him in spirit. He mentioned the friendship and partnership between Russia and South Africa and also noted the themes of the Tokyo Olympics and the fight against coronavirus in South Africa.
Mzuvukile Jeff Maqetuka Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Africa to Russia was born on January 28, 1952 in South Africa in the Eastern Cape province.
- graduated from the Julius Fucik School of Journalism in Prague in 1983;
- he holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 1995;
- holds a bachelor's degree in modern media from the University of London at Westminster;
- worked as director of the South African government's Department of Home Affairs;
- served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria from 2008 to 2012;
- served as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency from 2019 to 2020;
- speaks English, Afrikaas, and Kossa.
Married, author of five published books, working on a sixth.
