Krechinsky's Wedding: a spectacular and unconventional musical in a modern interpretation
The State Academic Maly Theatre hosted the premiere of the musical Krechinsky’s Wedding, based on the play of the same name by Alexander Sukhovo-Kobylin, with a carnival spirit. Audiences watched an up-to-date rendition of the play about love and what stands in the way of a man and a woman's relationship. Director Aleksey Frandetti decided to use minimal decorations, colour play and special effects.
The scenography and musical "modernisation" are full of surprises. The dance parts also changed. Our story presents the new musical Krechinsky's Wedding.
