Brazil and Mexico will host a Russian film festival
The Russian Film Festival (RFF) will take place in Brazil and Mexico this autumn. Viewers of the two countries will be able to see eight films by Russian directors. It is noted that the films that will be presented at the festival are in different genres. This was reported in Roskino, Interfax writes.
Residents of Brazil will be able to get acquainted with Russian cinematography from the 16th of September to the 10th of October - they will be able to watch the films on the local Spcine platform. In Mexico, the festival will take place on the Filmin Latino service platform from the 23rd of September to the 17th of October. Wherein, the viewers from both countries will be able to watch films for free. There are also this year's premiers among those.
In the program of this year's festivals documentary projects have been included alongside feature films and animation for the first time. Evgenia Markova, Roskino General Director, said that the organisation intends to significantly increase the audience of the festivals this way.
“We return to Brazil and Mexico with pleasure. <...> Last year, a total of 44,200 people in both countries watched the films from the programme, this is a half of the entire RFF 2020 audience”, she said.
Markova has added that Roskino drew up a programme of repeated festivals taking into account the preferences of Brazilian and Mexican residents over the past year.
The largest South American country will see such Russian films as "Doctor Lisa" (directed by Oksana Karas), "On the Edge" (directed by Eduard Bordukov), "The Story of an Appointment" (directed by Avdotya Smirnova), "Voy" (directed by Maxim Arbugaev), "The Relatives" (directed by Ilya Aksenov), "Sheena667" (directed by Grigory Dobrygin), "Masha" (directed by Anastasia Palchikova) and "Three Cats" animated series (directed by Dmitry Vysotsky).
It is noted that all films will be subtitled, animated ones - professionally dubbed.
