BRICS business community to congratulate the Orpheus Radio Symphony Orchestra on its 25th anniversary
On 23 December, a big concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Orpheus Radio Symphony Orchestra will be held at the Pillar Hall of the House of Unions (Dom Soyuzov) in Moscow.
TV BRICS Media Network in partnership with Russian State Musical TV and Radio Centre Orpheus will organise a special diplomatic visit for the BRICS countries' top embassies in honour of the New Year concert. There have been invited guests from six countries - representatives of the embassies of Brazil, India, South Africa, Angola and Mozambique, as well as heads of business and media companies from China and India. The diplomats and business representatives of the BRICS countries will congratulate the musicians on their 25th anniversary.
The full version of the concert will be available on New Year's Eve on TV BRICS and on "Prodvizhenie", a partner of TV BRICS Media Network in Russia.
The Orpheus Radio instrumentali group, directed by the Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Sergey Kondrashev, will perform popular classical pieces, as well as music from well-known films. The programme for the evening includes works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Alexander Borodin, Georgy Sviridov, Giuseppe Verdi, Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar, Georges Bizet, Charles Francois Gounod and many other outstanding composers.
It should be recalled that orchestra of the Orpheus Radio was established in 1997. It is rightly regarded as the successor of the best traditions of symphony orchestras of "Gosteleradio USSR" (russian radio). The ensemble regularly performs at the capital's main concert stages.
