China and Russia launch construction of cooperation center
China and Russia launched construction of a cooperation center at the core area of the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) demonstration zone in east China's Shandong Province on Sunday, as reported by CCTV+, a partner of TV BRICS.
With a total investment of around two billion yuan and covering an area of about 200,000 square meters in the core area of the China-SCO local economic and trade cooperation demonstration zone in Qingdao City, the cooperation center is expected to speed up cultural, tourist and sci-tech collaboration and promote in-depth cooperation on industrial chain between China and Russia by gathering high-quality enterprise resources.
"[The China-SCO local economic and trade cooperation demonstration zone] has launched pure air freighter route and rail freight route to Moscow with the establishment of warehouses in Russia, and is implementing a 10-billion-yuan China-Russia Energy Fund. That has provided platforms and opportunities for cooperation in various fields between China and Russia, and will help build the new center into a new platform, bridge and window for collaboration between the two sides," said Meng Qingsheng, deputy director of the management committee of the China-SCO demonstration zone.
"Undoubtedly, the demonstration zone is able to offer more information and convenience to Russian businessmen so that they will know more clearly about relevant cooperative opportunities in China," said Aleksey Efimov, deputy trade representative of Russia in China.
