Putin plans to visit China

Russian President is going to pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China in May

Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to China in May. He said this during a discussion at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Speaking to businessmen, Vladimir Putin revealed that he plans to visit China next month.

One of the participants in the meeting asked the president to give Chinese President Xi Jinping Nikolay Chernyshevsky's book "What Is To Be Done?". He remarked that it is the Chinese leader's favourite author and favourite book.

"I have a visit planned for May, I will definitely take this book with me and give it to our friend"

Putin did not specify the date of the visit, but given the month named, the visit could be the president's first foreign trip in his new term.

Putin's last visit to Beijing occurred in October 2023 during the Belt and Road Forum, while Xi visited Moscow for a state visit in last March in 2023.

Earlier, Sergey Lavrov said that Chinese President Xi Jinping would attend the BRICS summit in Kazan in October.
