Cinema map of Russia is launched in the Russian Federation
Kino-Teatr.Ru has launched an interactive project "Cinema map of Russia", where filming locations of famous movies, TV series, as well as famous film events will be marked.
Not only the creators of the project and the authors of films, but also ordinary users will be able to add locations. Then, based on these locations, unique tourist film routes will be developed.
"Cinema map of Russia" is an online map of significant geographical places for the film industry. Using it, you will find out where the addresses in which famous movies were filmed are located.
For example, many different projects were created in Karelia. There is the city of Pitkyaranta, where the famous TV show “To the lake” was filmed. On the way to it there is a waterfall in which Zhenya Kamelkova of "The Dawns Here Are Quiet" bathed and sang "Katyusha".
A special feature of the map is the possibility for users to fill it out on their own – after authorization, everyone will be able to attach their own photos with a short story about the place, how it relates to the cinema and what events took place there, as well as share personal stories about participating in filming, etc.
For film studios and streaming services, the "Cinema map of Russia" provides an opportunity to announce upcoming projects and reveal the details of movies and shows that have already been shot.
All users of "Cinema map of Russia" will be able to become co-authors of the unique tourist film routes in various directions. Their personal stories might become parts of such guides.
“We've noticed a strong need in the industry for geographic unification on one resource. "Cinema map of Russia" is, in fact, a kind of interactive encyclopedia of cinema, where you can learn about films using their coordinates. We encourage everyone to fill out the map and share their family stories related to filming. We want “Cinema map of Russia” to unite both filmmakers and their viewers in this way, and also to inspire everyone to travel,” says Vladimir Gnezdilov, head of the project.
“Cinema map of Russia” was created with the support of the Internet Development Institute.
