Egypt to open Islamic Pottery Museum

There are 315 ceramic pieces, representing various eras, production regions, diverse styles, manufacturing methods, and techniques that flourished in each historical period

Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Egypt’s Minister of Culture announced the reopening of the "Islamic Pottery Museum", which will be opened to the public from 15 October after 14 years of closure related to the restoration and improvement of its functionality.

The Culture Minister noted the current state of the museum and called for speeding up the completion of the necessary works to make it ready to receive visitors.

He stressed that the ministry is continuing its efforts to develop and upgrade infrastructure, including cultural institutions and sites, especially those that have been inactive for a long time.

Hanno also pointed out that the Islamic Museum of Ceramics is one of the most important historical museums in Egypt due to its collection of rare and exquisite ceramics. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

The museum houses 315 ceramic pieces that represent different eras.
