One of Russia’s largest economic universities and TV BRICS announce strategic cooperation at SPIEF 2026
The partnership will help the university showcase scientific achievements to a broad audience, while enabling the media network to enrich the BRICS+ agenda with in-depth expert content in the fields of economics and finance
The Plekhanov Russian University of Economics will receive information support from TV BRICS. At the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the cooperation agreement was signed by the Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Ivan Lobanov, and the CEO of TV BRICS, Janna Tolstikova.
The partners’ activities will be aimed at developing cooperation among BRICS+ countries in the fields of science, innovation, education, and economics, as well as strengthening Russia’s international standing. Plekhanov University and TV BRICS will jointly implement media projects and organise events.
“Cooperation with TV BRICS opens up a new dimension of international activity for our university. Together we will be able to showcase the achievements of Plekhanov University and Russia, and engage foreign students, researchers and partners in joint projects. The integration of academic expertise with the opportunities of modern media will provide a powerful impetus for strengthening humanitarian ties across the BRICS+ space,” emphasised Rector of Plekhanov University Ivan Lobanov.
The Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (PRUE) was founded in 1907. Its strong practical orientation in education and its connection to the realities of the country’s economic situation have for many years been a distinctive feature of the institution. Studies at PRUE are conducted in Moscow and 16 branches located in cities across Russia and abroad. The university’s mission is to contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of Russia through the formation of human and intellectual capital. Since 2012, the university has been included in the QS World University Rankings. The university hosts the Situation Centre for the Socio-Economic Development of Russia and its regions.
CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova noted that cooperation with the media network will open up new opportunities for PRUE to inform international audiences about the achievements of Russia’s education system, encourage the exchange of experience with foreign colleagues, and create applied projects aimed at improving trade and economic activities in different countries. At the same time, the joint work of the partners will enrich the consolidated BRICS+ agenda with in-depth expert and academic materials in the fields of economics, management, finance and business analytics.
TV BRICS partners in the field of education include more than 30 state and public institutions from Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Nepal, and Cuba.
