Bolivian cinema joins TV BRICS media space

Bolivian film company and TV BRICS have signed a cooperation agreement

The Plurinational State of Bolivia will cooperate with the TV BRICS International Media Network to promote cinema and national filmmaking. An agreement on joint work was signed by Leonardo Pacheco Fernandez, Director of the Bolivian film company Jumping Studios, and Janna Tolstikova, TV BRICS CEO and Editor-in-Chief. The partners will begin practical cooperation as early as September 2026: with information support from the international media network, the 5th International Film Festival "Leones de Fuego" will be held in Cochabamba, organised by Jumping Studios.

“Jumping Studios is pleased to announce the establishment of cooperation with TV BRICS. This partnership will provide international media coverage of the ‘Leones de Fuego’ Film Festival. We highly value the continued willingness of both sides to engage in productive cooperation and joint work for the development of Latin American cinema. We believe that the cooperation between Jumping Studios and TV BRICS is an extremely positive experience. This agreement could mark the beginning of a long-term and fruitful relationship. At the same time, we would not like to limit ourselves to the festival but rather implement joint projects throughout the year, share Bolivian films and news, and create new opportunities for our directors. There is much we can learn from each other, and, more importantly, we have every opportunity to build a common future and introduce Bolivian cinema to a new international audience,” said Leonardo Pacheco Fernandez, Director of Jumping Studios and the "Leones de Fuego" Festival.

Jumping Studios is an independent film company from Bolivia. It was founded in 2019 in the city of Cochabamba. The company specialises in the production of feature and documentary films and the promotion of contemporary Bolivian cinema internationally. Since 2022, it has organised the International Film Festival "Leones de Fuego".

Aleksandra Burman, Director of the TV BRICS Department of International Cooperation, noted that in 2026 the international media network has been actively expanding its network of partners in the field of cinema, particularly in Latin America. In her view, this is driven by states' desire to develop humanitarian cooperation and expand international ties through cultural diplomacy and the language of cinema. Responding to the challenges of the times, TV BRICS provides its media space and unique opportunities to showcase the national and cultural potential of different countries in the BRICS+ format, exchange professional expertise, develop expert communities, create new projects and foster co-creation.

Earlier in the macro-region, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, the Panvision cultural association and Brasil Audiovisual Independente (Brazil) joined the TV BRICS International Media Network's cooperation on the international promotion of Latin American cinema.

TV BRICS traditionally supports a number of film festivals in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Cuba. For example, in autumn 2026, the Obera en Cortos International Documentary Film Festival will also take place in the city of Obera, Argentina, with the participation of TV BRICS.

In terms of information exchange, TV BRICS cooperates in Bolivia with the Visión 360 public and political online publication and the Palenque private television channel.
