Brazil launches cooperation with TV BRICS to promote Latin American cinema internationally
TV BRICS is expanding its cultural and humanitarian ties with the Federative Republic of Brazil, which holds the BRICS Chairmanship in 2025. The network’s new partner in the country is the Panvision Cultural Association, engaged in the promotion of Latin American audiovisual art. The cooperation agreement was signed by CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova and Director-General of Panvision Marilha Naccari.
This partnership will enable Latin American auteur documentary cinema to reach international television audiences, while also giving Brazilian viewers the opportunity to watch leading works by filmmakers from BRICS member states and partners.
“Signing the agreement between TV BRICS and Panvision is an important step towards expanding the geographical reach of audiovisual content. [...] We want our works to enter new markets, and we want our audience to gain access to high-quality content from BRICS countries, which will contribute to genuine cultural dialogue. Audiovisual media are a powerful tool for showing the world real solutions to contemporary challenges. [...] Our cooperation goes beyond film screenings, creating fertile ground for co-productions, technology exchange and the development of creative alliances,” said Director-General of Panvision Marilha Naccari.
The Panvision Cultural Association is a non-profit Brazilian organisation engaged in cultural and educational activities in the field of Latin American audiovisual art, including the promotion of cinematographic achievements of the MERCOSUR countries. It specialises in organising and curating film screenings for diverse audiences. It runs the Circuito FAM de Cinema project and organises the Curta Jacarehy and FALA São Chico festivals.
"The promotion of national cinematic achievements is a special area of the media network’s work, aimed at advancing the BRICS ideology through art and cinema. We support more than 20 film festivals in Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Bolivia, and Cuba: we act as an information partner, participate in competition programmes and, most importantly, organise film screenings. The films we select for the screening programme are adapted into foreign languages and also broadcast on the round-the-clock TV BRICS channels before being distributed across countries through the media network. One could say this is a true encyclopaedia of world cultures, offering an opportunity to showcase the global significance of BRICS through human stories"![]()
