Argentina’s media outlets show growing interest in BRICS agenda
Viewers in the country will gain access to reliable news from the member states of the group via TV BRICS’ new partner, the television channel Canal 22 Web
The media in the Argentine Republic are showing growing interest in the objective BRICS agenda. In June 2026, the socio-political television channel Canal 22 Web joined the international exchange of information via the TV BRICS International Media Network. A cooperation agreement was signed by CEO and Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS, Janna Tolstikova, and the CEO of the Argentine media organisation, Santiago Gabriel Cuneo.
With the support of the TV BRICS International Media Network, viewers in Argentina will be able to access reliable information on the development of BRICS and the humanitarian and economic activities of the group’s member states and partners. At the same time, Argentina’s agenda will be represented in the BRICS media space through content produced by Canal 22 Web.
"It is a great honour for Canal 22 Web to contribute to Argentina’s integration into the global communication network of the BRICS nations. This will ensure that our viewers have access to accurate, reliable information based on verified facts. Our communication partnership showcases our distinct identities whilst emphasising the shared values that unite peoples striving for open dialogue. This helps to build bridges and dispel misunderstandings in relations between different cultures. Canal 22 Web is ready to mobilise all its resources and capabilities to become part of the unified BRICS community," stated Santiago Gabriel Cuneo, CEO of Canal 22 Web.
Canal 22 Web is an Argentine 24-hour streaming television channel founded in 2017. It offers viewers programmes on politics, the economy and public life, as well as news and entertainment content. In 2019, Canal 22 Web received the Martin Fierro de Oro Award from the Association of Argentine Television and Radio Journalists as the best digital channel.
Janna Tolstikova, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS, noted that the socio-cultural character of Latin America is widely represented on the BRICS+ agenda, and cooperation with countries in the region is only growing. Within the sphere of media diplomacy created by TV BRICS, the pursuit of national interests and open international dialogue, which states conduct through the media, take on particular significance. According to her, Canal 22 Web will enrich the general public’s understanding of Argentina’s cultural traditions and its foreign economic prospects.
Previously in the country, the digital media outlets Ahora San Juan, BRICSLat and AsiaTv became partners of TV BRICS, whilst the International Documentary Film Festival PampaDocFest received media support from the network.
In Latin America, media organisations, civil society groups, and government bodies from Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Chile, and Uruguay also collaborate with TV BRICS.
