Iran ranks among global leaders in vaccination and infertility treatment
Country reports leading positions in vaccination coverage and organ transplantation, alongside more than 170,000 practising doctors

Iran has achieved leading global positions in several areas of healthcare, including vaccination coverage, infertility treatment and organ transplantation, according to Mohammad Raiszadeh, President of the Iranian Medical Council.
Raiszadeh said Iran ranks first globally for vaccination coverage and third for infertility treatment. The country also holds fourth place worldwide in liver and kidney transplantation, as reported by Pars Today, a TV BRICS partner.
He added that Iran is among the leading countries in cochlear implantation, cardiac surgery and other complex surgical procedures.
The country currently has more than 170,000 practising doctors, with 19 physicians per 10,000 people, Raiszadeh said.
Citing World Health Organisation data, he noted that the global average stands at 16 doctors per 10,000 people, placing Iran above this level.
The figures highlight Iran’s progress across preventive healthcare, specialised treatment and advanced medical procedures, as well as the scale of its medical workforce.
