China launches world's first intelligent humanoid robot manufacturing factory

The facility is capable of producing one industrial humanoid robot every 10 minutes

The world's first intelligent manufacturing factory for humanoid robots has started operating in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. The facility is designed to produce 10,000 units annually. It is capable of manufacturing one industrial humanoid robot every 10 minutes. This was reported by Global Times, a TV BRICS partner, citing the robot developer company.

The project is based on intelligent planning using industrial simulation systems and the management of production processes through a digital “smart brain”. As a result, the facility has implemented a production model in which robots create robots. This marks a new stage in the mass production of robots in China.

Directly on the production line, industrial humanoid robots equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) perform operations involving pallet unloading, pallet formation, loading and material transportation. The final assembly area uses collaborative robots, robotic manipulators with force-assistance systems, unmanned logistics vehicles and 360-degree rotating worktables, which enable precise assembly from different angles without moving the product. This ensures flexible mixed production of several types of robots.

At the quality control stage, each completed robot undergoes more than four hours of comprehensive testing and is also sent through a special tunnel with automotive-grade lighting, where its appearance is inspected from all sides without blind spots.

The manufacturing company has developed the industry's first fully automated multi-level warehouse for humanoid robots. It occupies only 65 square metres but can accommodate 112 robots, increasing space utilisation efficiency by more than 50 per cent.

A unified intelligent logistics system, including automated guided vehicles, unmanned forklift trucks and other logistics equipment, connects all stages – from the assembly of individual components and final assembly to testing and storage. It enables efficient logistics support for a production capacity of 10,000 robots per year.

According to Global Times, citing the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the country's industrial robot production reached 98,677 units in July this year, increasing by 30.2 per cent year-on-year. From January to July, 635,056 robots were produced, which is 28.5 per cent more than during the same period last year.
