Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in New Delhi on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit, reports ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
Ethiopia and Malaysia expressed an interest in expanding cooperation with Indian industry and attracting investment. During the talks with Ethiopia, particular attention was paid to opportunities for Indian mining companies to operate in the country, whilst discussions with Malaysia focused on prospects for cooperation in the field of semiconductors.

According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Narendra Modi and Anwar Ibrahim also reviewed progress in implementing the agreements reached during the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Malaysia in February 2026. The parties discussed issues relating to trade and investment, the development of the semiconductor industry, infrastructure, the digital economy, energy, financial technology, education, and tourism.
At a meeting with Abiy Ahmed, the prime ministers reaffirmed their intention to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. They also reaffirmed their shared stance in support of the interests of the Global South.

Narendra Modi also held bilateral talks with Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran.
Modi and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, in turn, discussed further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE, with a particular focus on trade and energy security.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during his meeting with Narendra Modi, emphasised the need to develop bilateral cooperation and continue implementing strategic agreements between the two countries, notes Nournews, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to Pezeshkian, Iran and India share many common interests and points of convergence that can contribute to the further development of cooperation. The Iranian president also emphasised the importance of expanding interaction between countries in the region and developing cooperation among BRICS member states, particularly in the economic and financial spheres.
The 18th BRICS Summit is taking place in New Delhi on 12–13 September, chaired by India.
