UAE airline transports 153,000 tonnes of Indian exports in last financial year
Pharmaceuticals, electronics and perishables accounted for the bulk of cargo traffic

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) transported more than 153,000 tonnes of Indian exports by air during the 2025–2026 financial year. This was reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a TV BRICS partner.
The main cargo categories included pharmaceuticals, perishables, advanced electronics, engineering components, automotive parts and fashion goods.
Indian airports handle around 2.2 million tonnes of international cargo annually. The UAE airline provides more than 3,000 tonnes of cargo capacity per week through nine hubs in India. This connects companies, manufacturers and exporters with customers in the Middle East, Africa and other markets.
Each week, an average of more than 650 tonnes of pharmaceutical products and over 600 tonnes of fresh food and other perishables are shipped from India via Dubai to destinations around the world.
In response to growing demand for export capacity, new weekly cargo flights have been launched to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. The total number of dedicated cargo flights to India has reached seven per week. These are supplemented by capacity on 167 weekly passenger flights to India, giving exporters direct connectivity and substantial cargo volumes along key global trade corridors.
The airline continues to support the rapid growth of trade between India and the UAE, building on the strengthening economic partnership between the two countries and the results of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which entered into force in May 2022.
Non-oil trade between the two countries is growing by around 15 per cent annually. During the 2025–2026 financial year, more than 28,000 tonnes of Indian exports were transported to the UAE – 24 per cent more than a year earlier.
