Brazil to present achievements of young scientists to international audience via TV BRICS

The Federative Republic of Brazil will present the achievements of its young scientists to the international audience through TV BRICS. A partnership agreement with the media network has been concluded by the State University of Campinas (Portuguese: Universidade Estadual de Campinas, UNICAMP) – one of the leading higher education institutions in Latin America and a major scientific centre in Brazil. The document was signed by Rector Paulo Cesar Montagner and CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova. The partners’ activities will be aimed at strengthening technological sovereignty and developing cooperation among BRICS countries in the field of education and science. In particular, the media network and the university channel TV UNICAMP plan to exchange content and create joint television projects.

“This partnership is a crucial step towards expanding the reach of TV UNICAMP’s journalistic materials from the national level to the international level. Thanks to TV BRICS, we will be able to bring to a wide and diverse audience across the member countries a series of reports, documentary films and discussion programmes that demonstrate the quality and relevance of our university’s educational, research, and outreach activities,” said Rector Paulo Cesar Montagner.

The University of Campinas is a public research university in the state of Sao Paulo. It was founded in 1966. It is one of the leading higher education institutions in Brazil and Latin America. It is a major scientific centre, recording the highest number of patents in the country. UNICAMP comprises 14 faculties, 10 institutes and two technological colleges. The university offers academic programmes across a wide range of fields – from natural and technical sciences to the humanities.

CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova emphasised that promoting the development of high-quality higher education and strengthening the technological sovereignty of BRICS countries is a priority of the media network’s information and humanitarian agenda.

Ultimately, such an information environment has a positive impact on technological progress and the improvement of people’s quality of life. Cooperation with the State University of Campinas will undoubtedly bring novelty to the consolidated BRICS agenda and help enrich the overall picture with interesting media materials"

Today, the media network’s partners in the field of science and higher education include more than 30 state and public organisations from Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Nepal, and Cuba, including members of the BRICS Network University, the Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (INDAPRYAL), as well as the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education of Cuba.

Only in 2026, new partners joining cooperation with TV BRICS include the International Competence Centre in Mining Engineering Education, under the auspices of UNESCO, established on the basis of the Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University (Russia), the University of Havana (Cuba), the Oscar International College film school of Nepal, and the University of Gondar (Ethiopia).

In Brazil, the Ministry of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the Group of International Cooperation for Brazilian Universities are also working with the media network in this field.
