TV BRICS and the Ministry of Education of Rio de Janeiro sign a Memorandum of Cooperation

TV BRICS places a special emphasis on the promotion of Russian as a foreign language

TV BRICS International Media Network and the Ministry of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. It was announced in the newspaper Official Diary of the Union (Diário Oficial da União in Portuguese), which necessarily publishes all events of federal importance.

The partnership aims to support intercultural schools, especially the CE Tenente Otavio Pinheiro Intercultural Brasil-Russia school, to enhance the learning opportunities offered to students.

TV BRICS Media Network initiated a media engagement with educational institutions in BRICS+ countries to promote, through the media, new integration mechanisms of cooperation between the alliance countries in education.

"Informational cooperation with universities and other institutions allows to solve tasks for the formation and promotion of a positive image of educational institutions in the BRICS countries as leaders in the industry in a global context, facilitates the exchange of experiences, new business contacts and the launch of joint educational projects and initiatives"

Janna Tolstikova CEO of TV BRICS Media Network

Currently, TV BRICS develops partnerships with more than 20 universities in all five countries, actively covers their activities in the media, participates in university events, provides expert support and promotes dialogue between universities in different countries.

"For us, becoming an official partner of the Ministry of Education in Rio de Janeiro is not only a great honour, but also a serious responsibility. We are confident that through the channels of the TV BRICS partner network, Brazil's experience in the education sector will be effectively promoted, including media resources in BRICS+ countries. Moreover, using the experience of cooperation with educational institutions in different countries, we will be able to share with Brazil those approaches that are currently used in other BRICS+ countries and abroad in the field of education and science," said Janna Tolstikova.

Today, TV BRICS implements an innovative linguistic project "Modern Russian", whose portal is visited by residents of more than 100 countries, and its emergency linguistic services are used by residents of 638 cities around the world. The Media Network and the "Modern Russian" project work to create and promote a positive image of Russia in the foreign information and educational space. To this end, teleconferences with higher education institutions in the community are organised on a regular basis. The high quality and methodological value of the videos created by TV BRICS specialists in cooperation with the "Modern Russian" project enables to use the materials during the study of RKI (Russian as a foreign language).

"TV BRICS TV programs, videos, documentaries about Russia are shown during educational TV-bridges with foreign universities, they are systematically aired and published on the platforms of foreign media partners of TV BRICS in Russian dubbing with subtitles in national languages, which allows to promote Russian language and culture in BRICS+ media space. We plan to provide TV BRICS materials for use in Russian language classes in educational institutions of Rio de Janeiro, including teachers of the intercultural CE Tenente Otavio Pinheiro Intercultural Brasil-Russia school," said CEO of TV BRICS.
