TV BRICS and "Gateway to Russia" project to jointly promote Russian language and culture abroad
The cooperation will help make content about Russia more accessible to readers around the world and support the development of cultural and educational initiatives
The TV BRICS International Media Network and the major multimedia project "Gateway to Russia" will cooperate in promoting the Russian language and culture abroad. On Russian Language Day (celebrated annually on 6 June, the birthday of Aleksander Pushkin), the partners announced plans to exchange information content, develop humanitarian and educational initiatives, and hold joint events aimed at enhancing language culture.
"Through the 'Gateway to Russia' project, we provide a broad international audience with an opportunity to gain a better understanding of our country and, among other things, to learn the Russian language. TV BRICS addresses audiences in the BRICS countries and partner states, so for us it is an important communication channel with readers who are already interested in international cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Our interaction will help make materials about Russia more accessible to readers in different countries and will support the development of cultural and educational exchange"![]()

"Gateway to Russia" is a digital ecosystem for promoting the Russian language and Russia’s image abroad. The RT project introduces international audiences to contemporary Russia and its cultural heritage and encourages the study of the Russian language. The project’s website features materials on Russian culture, history, travel, education and modern life in the country, as well as practical guidance for foreign visitors. The project is available in ten languages: Russian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Serbian, German, and Arabic.
Tamara Skok, Director of the Department of Innovative Linguistic Projects at TV BRICS, noted that the media network’s humanitarian activities aimed at popularising the Russian language and culture and the "Gateway to Russia" project are united by common goals and objectives, creating broad opportunities for joint creativity and partnership initiatives. In the year marking the 20th anniversary of BRICS, TV BRICS carried out a rebranding and modernisation of the portal of the international information and educational project "Modern Russian", whose resources are used in more than 150 countries. As a result, a modern digital environment for exploring the Russian language and culture, based on nearly 20 years of the project’s experience, has been presented to a global audience.
As part of promoting Russian humanitarian values, TV BRICS cooperates with the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Moscow State Academy of Choreography and the country’s leading universities. In the field of promoting the Russian language, the media network is actively developing partnerships with universities, scientific and educational institutions, and specialised humanitarian organisations in the BRICS countries and across the Global South.
