China and Russia mark treaty anniversary through shared orchestral performance

Three orchestras from both countries performed together on stage, symbolising the long-standing friendship and cultural exchange between the two nations

To mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, a special symphony concert was held at the Harbin Concert Hall. Around a thousand Chinese and Russian guests attended the event, including Sergey Linnik, Russian Consul-General in Harbin, and relevant leaders from Heilongjiang Province. This news was reported by Dongbeiwang, a partner of TV BRICS.

The 70-minute concert brought together the finest artistic talents from both nations: the State Philharmonic Orchestra named after Krivoshapko of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in english, the String Quintet of the Lemeshev State Philharmonic Orchestra of the Tver Region, and the Harbin Symphony Orchestra all performed on the same stage.

Entitled "History, Present, Future", the concert was divided into three parts, each reflecting key stages in the development of bilateral relations. The programme was based on the principles of equality and mutual respect: the evening opened with Russian composer Dmitry Shostakovich’s "Festive Overture" and concluded with Chinese composer Lu Qiming’s "Ode to the Red Flag".

The organisers emphasised that the concert was intended to demonstrate the deep trust and sincerity between the two countries.
