The Argentine Republic will strengthen the regional dimension of the unified BRICS agenda. To this end, the online publication Punto Capital Noticias, based in the Province of Buenos Aires, is beginning to collaborate with the TV BRICS International Media Network. A memorandum of understanding was signed by the TV BRICS CEO and Editor-in-Chief, Janna Tolstikova, and the Executive Director of the Argentine media outlet, Leonel Sanchez Alpino.

"The collaboration between TV BRICS and Punto Capital Noticias is an important step towards the development of journalism that is becoming increasingly open to international dialogue while remaining committed to the fundamental values of our profession. Against the backdrop of a rapidly changing international agenda, strengthening ties between media organisations that share the principles of accuracy and thorough analysis of information, as well as a careful consideration of the interests and needs of their audiences, is a key tool for enhancing the quality of public dialogue. This partnership extends beyond the scope of journalistic cooperation. We view it as a step towards a multipolar world in which representatives from different countries have the opportunity to meet, exchange experiences, broaden their perspectives and create a space for reflecting on the major challenges of our time. And journalism plays a unique role here: it not only conveys information but also helps people navigate a complex reality whilst bringing different perspectives and cultures closer together,” says Leonel Sanchez Alpino, Executive Director of Punto Capital Noticias.

In his view, Argentina’s future will be increasingly closely linked to the BRICS framework and the opportunities for cooperation that this group opens up. "That is precisely why it is a great honour for Punto Capital Noticias to move in this direction, developing a partnership with such a prestigious international media outlet as TV BRICS and reaffirming our commitment to journalism that combines a global perspective on world affairs with an attention to the specific characteristics and needs of different peoples. We intend to facilitate the process of bringing Argentina and BRICS closer together by promoting responsible, pluralistic and professional journalism and ensuring citizens’ right to access high-quality information," emphasised Leonel Sanchez Alpino.

Punto Capital Noticias is an Argentine online media outlet. Its editorial office is based in La Plata. The outlet covers local and national events and focuses on international cooperation. The editorial team bases its work on the principles of responsible journalism, verified facts and contextual analysis of information. The outlet covers a wide range of topics: from the economy, the environment and urban planning to education, science, culture and sport. Particular attention is paid to promoting scientific knowledge, developments and research from Argentine universities, research centres and civil society organisations. Punto Capital Noticias’ content is published simultaneously on its website and on social media, tailored to the preferences of specific digital audiences, while maintaining depth, accuracy and professional standards.

Aleksandra Burman, Director of the International Cooperation Department of TV BRICS, noted that the editorial focus of Punto Capital Noticias aligns with the media network’s humanitarian priorities, including the promotion of scientific and technological cooperation among BRICS+ countries and the creation of conditions for international collaboration between scientists and researchers. Today, TV BRICS serves as a platform for media diplomacy, open to constructive dialogue, the exchange of information and the expression of professional opinions by representatives from various fields and countries. This approach reflects the essence of BRICS and enhances the group’s appeal.

Aleksandra Burman particularly emphasised that TV BRICS places great importance on developing cooperation between regional media organisations, as this allows for a deeper understanding of each country’s specific context and broadens the scope of comprehensive international partnership. As such, local media outlets from Brazil, Egypt, India, China, Colombia, Nigeria, Russia, Chile, and South Africa are currently working with the media network.

Earlier in Argentina, the television channel Canal 22 Web, the digital media outlets Ahora San Juan, BRICSLat and AsiaTv began collaborating with the media network. With media support from TV BRICS, the International Documentary Film Festival PampaDocFest was held in the country; in October 2026, the media network will partner with the Obera en Cortos International Film Festival.

Within the macro-region, TV BRICS also collaborates with partners in Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Uruguay, and Chile. In the field of television broadcasting, TV BRICS’s major partner is the TAL – Televisión América Latina media network, which brings together public television channels across Latin America.
