The world's first perfume composed by a robot was unveiled in Moscow
The world's first fragrance created by a computerised perfumer was unveiled in Moscow.
"We somehow wanted to engage the robot, somehow wanted to engage our fragrances and thought why not just make a fragrance together. That's how the idea was born. We thought it was modern, cool," said Dmitry Bolotov, CEO of the home accessory manufacturer.
The idea attracted employees from the robot station at VDNKh in Moscow, who helped bring the idea to life. The project team has chosen 15 basic fragrances - these are called 'notes'. The neural network suggested its own version of the bouquet.
"If you upload a detailed description of what a person feels, I think I can not only smell but also experience falling in love," explained the robot Thespian on behalf of the neural network.
The theme of falling in love is even in the name of the perfume: Amore Robotico. The composition includes rose, orchid, orange, cinnamon and other notes.
The fragrance was created over several months, not just by machines. The specialists at the production company added a couple of notes and picked up the proportions. The resulting product is intended for indoor use. Manufacturers were satisfied with the first experience. They said they would continue to use computer technology. In the near future, there are plans to create a composition for a car.
