TV BRICS and Modern Russian organize a teleconference with students of Jawaharlal Nehru University
A teleconference with students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi, India), initiated by TV BRICS International Media Network in cooperation with the "Modern Russian" project, will take place on 20 March at 12:30 (Moscow time).
The videoconference will be moderated by Tamara Skok, director of innovative linguistic projects department of the TV BRICS and head of the " Modern Russian" project, and by Svetlana Kukava, editor-in-chief of TV BRICS.
The video lesson themed "Russian Hospitality: Soulful and Tasty" will be attended by students of Jawaharlal Nehru University who are studying Russian as a foreign language.
Within the TV bridge students will learn much about culinary traditions and customs of Russia, enrich their vocabulary with words, proverbs and expressions related to the theme of hospitality, understand the origin of many popular expressions and take part in interactive activities.
Notably, Indian students are already familiar with such events. In September last year, TV BRICS in cooperation with the "Modern Russian" project organised by Russia-India teleconference bridge. The video lesson themed "Let's hold hands, friends!" was attended by EFL Hyderabad, Jawaharlal Nehru University, students of courses at RCSC Chennai, Delhi University and Amity University, as well as a Russian language teacher at the National Defence Academy.
For several years, TV BRICS has been actively cooperating with leading universities of the BRICS countries to promote and popularise Russian language as a foreign language.
In 2022, a meeting with the editors of TV BRICS was held at the Fluminense University of Brazil. Participants in the Russian as a foreign language courses at the University of Fluminense of Rio de Janeiro State were able to ask questions about the work of the international network in Brazil and in the BRICS space.
In addition, last year, the TV BRICS lecture "Peculiarities and Identity of Russian Regions" was held at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi in a full-time format and attended by undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of the Department of Russian Studies.
The 2019 teleconference in the format of international videoconference linked two cities - Sao Paulo and Omsk. The theme of the dialogue was "The Three Cities in the Creative Destiny of F.M. Dostoevsky".
In 2018, there was a successful teleconference between Russia and Brazil, where educational media resources created as part of the international outreach project "Modern Russian" were presented to lecturers, postgraduate students and students of the Department of Russian Studies at the University of Sao Paulo.
The "Modern Russian" International Project has been successfully working since 2007 and contributes to the increase in the level of language culture in 638 cities and towns, of which 366 are Russian Federation cities and 272 near and far abroad.
