TV BRICS network partners supported the BRICS Summit in a joint video message
In the run-up to the BRICS Heads of State Summit, China Global Television Network (CGTN) of the China Media Group (CMG) launched the "BRICS: Together we are stronger!" video. The initiative is supported by the international TV BRICS network, a partner of CGTN.
Leading editors, broadcasters and correspondents of major media outlets from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa shared their views on the most relevant topics for the development of the mechanism and assessed the outcomes of the BRICS partnership.
A video message was delivered by the leading partners of TV BRICS network: Doreen Theys, CEO of Durban TV Media Network (South Africa), Giriraj Singh Rathore, Executive Editor of Janhit Times news portal (India), Juliano Dip, reporter of TV BAND Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação (Brazil).
"It is also wonderful to be able to show the connections that we have from cultural, historical, conservation, nature, all of these things that actually bring us together," said Doreen Theys.
The Russian editorial team of the joint TV BRICS network was introduced by editor-in-chief Svetlana Kukava, who said:
"The effective development of the entire BRICS association is impossible without the successful functioning of individual industries, such as media. Our goal is to form a single information space of the BRICS countries, to acquaint a wide audience with the traditions and history, culture and sports, and the peculiarities of the modern life of our five countries. BRICS entrusts the media with the mission of strengthening mutual understanding between countries, developing cooperation in the political, economic and social spheres. The BRICS media should clearly understand the need to protect the common interests of the five countries. We must coordinate our positions so that our voice becomes stronger"
Recall that the two-day 14th BRICS summit, chaired by the PRC, began on Thursday via a video conference. The summit is attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. The summit is chaired by Chinese president Xi Jinping.
This year, China holds the presidency of the BRICS association. During the first half of the year, the PRC chaired many events of the official BRICS track. These include the BRICS Business Forum, the BRICS video conference on Security Issues, the BRICS Business Council meeting, a virtual meeting of representatives of the customs services of the association countries and other events.
Recall that the BRICS foreign ministers' meeting was also held in May this year.
TV BRICS, together with the partners of the network, regularly covers the events of the official agenda.
