TV BRICS viewers will "watch" culture and traditions of India as seen by Brazilians
The Brazilian media company "BRICStreet" has launchedan educational online project "Beco da India" devoted to the life of Indians in Brazil, Indian culture, traditions, philosophy. TV BRICS International Network has become its media partner.
The Beco da India project is an information blogcommunity posting daily author's articles and videos telling about the current events of the Indian-Brazilian cultural agenda. All materials are made in Portuguese by Beco da India correspondents and independent authors. In addition to original articles, this resource offers Portuguese-adaptedmaterials from the project’s partner websites. For instance, Beco da Indianews feed will both present the original feature materials by TV BRICS and repostnews from the Portuguese version of the TV BRICS website.
The new Brazilianonline project becodaindia.com has been made by a married couple of journalists: Florencia Costa and Shobhan Saxena. Florencia Costa has a considerablework experience as a foreign correspondent in Moscow, London, Mumbai, and New Delhi. From 2006 to 2012, she worked in India as a foreign correspondent of the largest Brazilian media O Globo. Florencia has also written the book "OsIndianos", the first large edition about India in Portuguese. Her husband Shobhan Saxenais an Indian journalist, he has been working in São Paulo since 2012 as a correspondent of the Indian newspaper The Hindu. For several years, he has been leading the Indian Foreign Policy and the Indian Cinema coursesat the University of São Paulo. Together the husband and the wifeestablished the BRICStreet media company in Brazil, organized and host the Indian-Brazilian carnival "Bloco Bollywood" in São Paulo, which traditionally precedes the main Brazilian carnival.
The Beco da India online project publishes interviews, news, articles and videoson various topics, including yoga, food, travel and tourism, society, science and innovations, cinema, music and dance, literature, and others. The authors of the Beco da India project are also planning to launch an English version of the website.
TV BRICS is a multimedia platform uniting a channel with its own broadcasting, a broadcasting block under the TV BRICS brand on partner channels, including foreign ones, and an editorial board of the tvbrics.com internet media. TV BRICS is a joint editorial board of international media working in 5 BRICS countries and preparing materials in four languages – Russian, English, Chinese, and Portuguese.The mission of TV BRICS international media platform is to forma common information space in support of the processes of coordinated economic and social development of the BRICS countries.
