The ceremony to announce the laureates of the "Global Energy" International Prize for scientific developments in the field of energy was held for the 20th time this year. Russia traditionally hosts the event of global scale and high expert level. Among others, two scientists from the People's Republic of China became laureates of the prize in the nominations "Unconventional Energy" and "New Ways of Energy Application".
The event was attended by the heads of editorial boards of leading media from BRICS and African countries, who visited Russia to participate in the "BRICS Global Media Tour. Russian Edition". The Kemerovo press tour and cultural programme for delegates from Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe were timed to coincide with the events organised by the Global Energy Association.
Thus, the participants of the media tour visited the Chernigovsky open pit mine, which is 300 metres deep. The foreigners were told about the history of the Kuznetsk coal mines at the "Krasnaya Gorka" museum and were offered to taste kvass at the "Tomskaya Pisanitsa" reserve.
The media tour was organised by the BRICS-Media Association in cooperation with the international TV BRICS network with grant support from the Gorchakov Foundation.
