Belarus' role in BRICS
The Republic of Belarus is an export-oriented country with rapidly developing industrial and agricultural sectors. The country is one of the leading food exporters and supplies 64 per cent of its output to foreign markets.
Belarus has various preferential regimes (special favourable economic conditions granted by one state to another) for investors. For example, a large-scale project – the Velikiy Kamen industrial park with the status of a special economic zone – is being implemented jointly with China.

Belarus' culture
The Republic of Belarus is famous for its outstanding schools of architecture and art, literature, and music. There are about 5 thousand state cultural institutions in the country: from libraries and museums to theatres and concert organisations.
There are UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Belarus: the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, the Mir Castle Complex, which combines Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements, and the architectural and cultural complex of the Radziwill residence in the town of Nesvizh. The Belarusian art of straw weaving and the festive Christmas ritual "Kolyadnye Tsary" have also earned recognition on a global scale.
Belarus in international organisations
The Republic of Belarus is a member of the United Nations (UN), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Union State of Russia and Belarus, and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO).
