Egyptian Prime Minister emphasises importance of continuous teacher training to meet global educational standards
Egypt implements a terh-stage system for teacher recruitment
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Minister of Education and Technical Education Reda Hegazy to assess the progress of teacher recruitment across the country. Madbouly reiterated the government's commitment to appoint 30,000 teachers annually.
In the first phase, 15,902 teachers were employed in October 2023, while in the second phase, 20,866 teachers have successfully passed the Central Agency for Organisation and Administration (CAOA) examinations and their appointment is pending the completion of training procedures. The third phase is currently underway and aims to recruit another 30,000 teachers, including 11,144 classroom teachers and 18,886 subject teachers who have passed the CAOA examinations.
The Minister also noted the hiring of 50,000 teachers on an hourly wage for one school year with an annual increase of 15 per cent to temporarily fill vacancies. In addition, coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity has led to the employment of 14,530 female teacher graduates. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
Madbouly emphasised the importance of continuous teacher training to meet global educational standards and reiterated the government's comprehensive plan to develop all aspects of the education system.
