Ethiopia launches project aimed at converting public health facilities to renewable energy sources
The initiative, which involves the use of solar energy to provide electricity to health facilities, will reach 6.7 million citizens across the country.
The project aims to improve health services by providing solar electricity to facilities in remote areas, far from the national electricity grid. This is reported by ENA, a partner of TV BRICS.
At the launch event, Alemayehu Hunduma, a representative of the Ministry of Health highlighted that this project will improve healthcare delivery in 305 health institutions across Ethiopia.
The launch of the solar project will not only improve health outcomes, but will also contribute to Ethiopia's efforts to increase access to renewable energy, especially in underserved and off-grid areas.
