G20 members agree on joint efforts to achieve energy efficiency
G20 member countries participating in the first meeting of the Energy Transition Working Group (ETWG) in Bengaluru agreed on collective efforts in priority areas to achieve energy security and diversified new energy supply chains, said India's Ministry of Power.
Minister of Power Secretary of the Indian Government Alok Kumar said that the rational use of green energy resources in the process of economic activity of enterprises have elicited a very good response from all member countries. He also said the suggestions and recommendations made at the meetings would form the basis for the forthcoming working group meetings.
In fact, energy efficiency is expressed in the consumption of fewer energy resources to maintain the same level of energy supply in buildings or processes.
"The government will work on them. A total of four working group meetings are scheduled," he added.
It may be recalled that the three-day event began on Sunday, 5 February, with a keynote address by India's Energy and New and Renewable Energy Minister Raj Kumar Singh.
The event is attended by more than 150 participants, including the G20 countries and nine specially invited countries, as well as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and many other international organisations are participating in the event.
