International community condemns terrorist attacks in Dagestan
On 23 June, a series of terrorist attacks took place in the cities of Makhachkala and Derbent in the Russian Republic of Dagestan: assailants opened fire on a synagogue, two Orthodox churches, and a traffic police post. A criminal case has been opened under Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code (terrorist act).
24, 25 and 26 June were declared mourning days in the republic.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned in the strongest terms Sunday's terrorist attacks on religious sites and security forces in the Republic of Dagestan in the Russian Federation.
The authorities of the BRICS and SCO countries also condemned the terrorist attacks. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning expressed condolences to the victims and relatives of the victims. This is reported by China.com, a partner of TV BRICS.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani condemned the actions of the attackers in Dagestan.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu-Zeid has declared a categorical rejection of terrorism.
"Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks that targeted places of worship and a police station in Dagestan," he wrote in a social media post.
Brazilian authorities emphasised their condemnation of the terrorist attacks in Dagestan and expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks. "Sending condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded, Brazil expresses its solidarity with the people and government of the Russian Federation," the ministry said in a statement.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of Russia and the families of the victims of this terrible crime, as well as wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured.
Zhang Ming, secretary-general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), said he was shocked by the news of the incident in Dagestan.
"I was shocked by the news of this incident and the attacks on churches and a synagogue in the city of Makhachakala and Derbent, which took place on the bright Orthodox holiday, Holy Trinity Day," he said.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said the republic favours the development of multilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism under the auspices of the UN, the SCO and other international organisations. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon also sent a telegram to Putin expressing condolences over the attacks.
Leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov also condemned the terrorist attack. They sent telegrams to Vladimir Putin with words of support.
