Russia for the first time becomes one of the top five suppliers of products to Brazil
In 2023 Brazil recorded a significant growth in imports of Russian products. It reached a record 10 billion US dollars.
Russia ranked fifth among the states exporting the largest number of goods to Brazil. This is evidenced by the data of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). In 2023 the South American country recorded a significant increase in imports of Russian goods, which reached a record 10 billion US dollars. It corresponds to an increase by 27 per cent.
China remains the leading exporter to Brazil. Despite a 12.5 per cent drop, it is still the main exporter with shipments worth $53.2 billion.
Along with Russia, India with a fall of 22 per cent recorded $6.9 billion in exports to Brazil.
Overall, imports of goods to Brazil fell by 12 per cent to $240.8 billion, while exports increased by two per cent to $339.7 billion in 2023. As a result, Brazil's trade surplus reached a record level of $98.9 billion. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
