The event took place via video link
The 10th BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Ministerial Meeting was held via video link in Beijing on Tuesday.
Under the theme of "Promoting open, inclusive, and shared scientific and technological innovation", ministers from the five BRICS countries shared their respective policies and practices regarding science, technology and innovation.
Meanwhile, the declaration of the 10th BRICS STI Ministerial Meeting and other documents were adopted at the meeting.
The BRICS mechanism, featuring five major emerging economies, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has traveled a glorious path over the past 16 years since its inception in 2006. BRICS countries account for about a quarter of the world economy and over 40 percent of the global population, as reported by CCTV+, a partner of TV BRICS.
"We have made a lot of partnerships with the participants, businessmen and government officials that came in to strengthen the ties and partnerships between our companies. And Cameroon, which is our country, and Africa at large. We know the relationships that have been established between Russia and African countries, Russia and BRIC countries, it make us really sure that something new will come up in Africa, something new in the era of development."
