During a special session, the head of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development urged the unification states to work on launching joint projects to develop promising technologies

The International Technological Congress was held in the Patriot Exhibition and Convention Centre near Moscow on 17-19 September. The event was attended by delegations from the BRICS countries, as well as representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Venezuela, Indonesia, Cambodia, Cuba, Malaysia and other states of Asia, Africa and Latin America. TV BRICS is an international information partner of ITC.

More than 60 business events in seven thematic tracks were held during the Congress. Experts discussed the prospects of BRICS+ co-operation in space meteorology, issues of economic cooperation in IT education, investment in technology, regulation of relations in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in BRICS+ countries, cyber security problems and other issues.

Maksut Shadaev, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, spoke at a special plenary session "Technological Sovereignty. Partnership for Leadership in the BRICS Space", which is part of the calendar of Russia's chairmanship in the group in 2024. Representative of the Indian People's Party Niranjan Kulkarni also took part in the session. He pointed out the importance for the republic of close co-operation with Russia in the technological sphere. In addition, the politician stated the need for technology transfer to BRICS+ countries through joint ventures in developing countries.

Representatives of Brazil were also present at the congress. In an exclusive commentary to TV BRICS, Vicente Barrientos. Chairman, Coordination Council of the Joint Center for Business Cooperation "BRICS", called for more events like the ITC to be held within the framework of the association. A separate calendar of events related to technological development and digitalisation should be developed, he said.

"Brazil has already realised many projects [in technology], with a number more in the pipeline. The country's authorities would be happy to share them with BRICS partners, as this is in our national interests," he added.

In his turn, Luis Alberto Mora Gonzalez, general director of the Russian-Cuban technological enterprise, told TV BRICS that Cuba continues to work with its partners to find interested companies to participate in a joint project between Russia and Cuba on the territory of the republic. He specified that this issue was discussed during the ITC.

The event was held with the support of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the Russian government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Digitisation, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
