Xi Jinping announces that China is ready to work with Africa to realise 10 partnership plans
At the opening ceremony of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China is willing to work with Africa to implement 10 partnership plans to jointly promote modernisation.
Xi noted that one-third of the world's population lives in China and Africa, and stressed that global modernisation is impossible without the modernisation of these regions. This is reported by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.
The proposed plans for the next three years cover areas such as mutual learning of civilisations, trade, industrial cooperation, transport accessibility, health development, agriculture, and cultural and human exchanges.
"China will enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges with Africa, champion mutual respect, inclusiveness and coexistence of different civilisations on our way to modernisation, and strive together for more fruitful outcomes under the Global Civilisation Initiative"Xi Jinping President of China
Xi emphasised that thanks to nearly seven decades of efforts by both sides, China-Africa relations have reached an all-time high.
The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was established in 2000 to formalise the strategic partnership between China and African nations. A summit is conducted every three years, with the host alternating between China and an African member.
