Climate change is reducing crop yields worldwide. Researchers from the K. A. Timiryazev Institute of Plant Physiology have proposed their own solution in the fight against the whims of nature. They added… gold to tomato seeds!

Why are tomatoes treated with this noble metal? Is it safe to eat “gilded” fruits? And how does this precious addition affect the nutritional value of vegetables? These questions will be explored through an exclusive experiment in the programme Laboratorium.
